Radley Schools Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Knapp as the new Head of Kitebrook from September 2026.

Tim brings more than 20 years of experience in prep school education and has a distinguished record of strong, strategic and innovative leadership. He joins Kitebrook from Pinewood School, where he has served with distinction as Deputy Headmaster since 2022.

After completing his degree, and PGCE at Exeter University, Tim has held roles at several leading prep schools. His experience includes two years at Chandlings and 15 years in senior roles at The Dragon, Oxford, before joining Pinewood.

Throughout his career, Tim has been a passionate advocate for developing every child’s character and is widely recognised for his dynamism and innovation in curriculum enrichment. His educational philosophy aligns closely with Kitebrook’s commitment to nurturing happy, grounded and intellectually curious children.

Commenting on his appointment, Tim Knapp said, “I am honoured to have been offered this position and look forward to harnessing and building on the school’s notable strengths: its nurturing environment; its strong academic outcomes and its distinctive location. The opportunity to lead Kitebrook is both inspiring and humbling.”

Andrew Ashton, Chief Executive (Prep Schools), Radley Schools Group added, “We were heartened to see such a strong field of applicants for this role, but Tim stood out for his energy, optimism and deep understanding of prep school education. With his boarding expertise and balanced approach to academic excellence, co-curricular enrichment and character development, he is an exceptional fit for Kitebrook.

“We looking forward to welcoming Tim, his wife Emma, and their children to Kitebrook and the wider Radley Schools Group community. Tim’s deep commitment to independent prep school education — and his dedication to fostering a warm, inclusive and supportive school environment — will help ensure that Kitebrook continues to thrive.”

The current Kitebrook leadership team will work closely with Tim over the next two terms to ensure a smooth transition. Opportunities will be provided for staff, parents and pupils to meet Tim and Emma ahead of his official start.

I am honoured to have been offered this position and look forward to harnessing and building on the school’s notable strengths.
